Candi Sewu

Candi Sewu is located in relatively close proximity to Candi Prambanan on the northwest side of modern Yogyakarta.   Initially constructed during the late 8th century, Candi Sewu experienced considerable renovations over time. The main sanctuary was to be surrounded by 240 smaller temples, but not all of these were completed.
