Candi Jago - East Java |
Candi Jago is located in relatively close proximity the city of Malang in East Java. The primary deity of the temple is Amoghapasha (right), a antric form of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara that has eight hands. |
Amoghapasha is surrounded by a unique pantheon of deities, including Hayagriva, Sudhanakumara, and tantric goddesses such as Locana and Marichi. The images from Candi Jago shown here are kept in the National Museum in Jakarta. |
